It’s Christmas Eve-Eve. The time is 7:06am — the sun has just barely risen. It’s slightly below freezing and I’m remembering what those harsh Michigan winters feel like again. I’m slowly inching through the icy suburb with my rental car and looking forward to spending my morning with Holly, Emily, and their son Ollie (lovingly nicknamed “Bubs”). Waking up at grandma’s house, a supermarket run for diapers, and back to grandma’s for some warm buttered toast.
